The last weeks leading up to the big day were not too eventful, as I recall. Our mild summer turned quite a bit hotter which is a little rough during pregnancy, but it didn't bother me too much. I did start to have a little trouble sleeping. There were maybe three nights that were nearly sleepless, and I actually tried to sleep in the guest room those nights so as not to wake up Kevin with my frequent bathroom breaks. I was also having some heartburn and was just plain uncomfortable.
High blood pressure and protein in my urine at my 38 week appointment sent me to labor and delivery for pre-eclampsia assessment, but everything went back to normal after a few hours, so no induction. And it ended up being the most amazing thing because I took a nap there for two hours--it totally felt like a vacation! 38 weeks was my last prenatal appointment. I had gained 33 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight at that point. That was the last time I was weighed so I don't know what my final final weight was. I had an appointment scheduled for 39 weeks and 4 days, but Emily was ready to go before that, so we ended up at the hospital rather than the doctor's office the following week.
